
Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra, sons of the late Pandit Rajan Misra, will share a special intimate evening of stories and songs on Wednesday September 13th at 7 pm at Matagiri.
Rather than a concert, this will be an informal educational exchange with time for questions .
As the sixth generation of musicians from the Banares school they grew up surrounded by the great artists of North Indian Classical music including shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan, sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, sarangi maestro Ramesh Misra and their father Rajan Misra and uncle Sajan Misra among many others.
They performed “Mahadeva” on Anoushka Shankar’s grammy nominated album “Rise” and received the Bismillah Khan award. They are Grade A vocalists with All India Radio and TV.
The duo has performed all over the world including Albert Hall in London, Lincoln Center in New York and the closing ceremonies for the Commonwealth Games.
