The songs of The Princes of Serendip engage the mind as well as the heart. They draw from the well of Celtic folk and Western classical traditions to tell stories. They offer a respite from the harshness of modern life as well as compassion for its underdogs – and most of all an opening into the beauty and wonder and absurdity of sounds and words and the world.
Julie Parisi Kirby (vocals) has sung in many local ensembles including Prana, Woodstock Renaissance, and currently The Bluebirds. T. G. Vanini (vocals and piano) wears many hats as well as the songwriter’s hat he’ll be wearing tonight – including those of Irish fiddler, digital artist, and mathematician. Together they’ve performed T. G.’s songs and song-poetry for 30 years as The Princes of Serendip.
