While giving primarily account of the intricate revolutionary events, Luc Venet clarifies the nature of the spiritual turning points in Sri Aurobindo’s yoga during this period and explaining how they influenced his political activities.

The Never-dying Fire covers the key events in Sri Aurobindo’s sadhana, beginning with his experience of ‘infinite oneness’ on landing at Apollo Bundar, continuing with his meeting with Lele and the achievement of silent mind and climaxes in his Alipore jail experiences, before he receives the “adeshas” that summon him to Pondicherry.

Luc Venet, a young PhD in mathematics, discovers India and then Sri Aurobindo in Pondicherry. It is a complete revolution in his life. He spends a few years in Auroville, then in America as a publisher. He now lives in southern France.
