 eading female sitar players of India belonging to Rampur Senia Gharana.  
 Sahana was born in a family of rich musical heritage and was readily recog
 nized as a child prodigy at an early age of four. Her father Prof. Santhos
 h Banerjee\, was a celebrated Sitar &amp\; Surbahar player of India and fo
 rmer Head of the Department of Instrumental Music of Rabindra Bharati Univ
 ersity\, in Calcutta. \nSahana’s unique presentation reflects the tradi
 tional Veenkar Dhrupad Style of Rampur Senia Gharana. She is a Grade ‘A
 ’ artist of All India Radio and National Television and has been giving 
 recitals since 1995. \nIn 1990\, she won the Pandit Nikhil Banerjee Chall
 enge Trophy at the Dover Lane Music Conference and was conferred the Best 
 Instrumentalist award.  \nSahana will be accompanied on tabla by Keshava
  Kaarthikeyan\, a child prodigy who studied under Ustad Zakir Hussain\, Pt
