SUMMARY:EVENTNAME - May 24\, 2024 - 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm -
DESCRIPTION:\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbs
p\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n“Crossing the Veil and Coming Back to Life”
\nPresenting an ensemble theater piece based on the true stories of people
who have reported near death experiences.  The stories follow a travel j
ourney narrative starting with the “moment of death” when the characte
rs have been declared clinically dead or experienced a medical crisis that
brought them to the edge of death. This leads to a crossing of the veil b
etween life and death and profound experiences and visions of life in the
post-mortem realms. The journey concludes with a return to physical life a
nd the challenges of sharing the experience with others and integrating it
into their lives.\nThe piece is a new work conceived by Robert Cornett an
d directed by Ted Pugh.  It has been performed by an ensemble theater gro
up\, based in the Hudson Valley\, New York\, to multiple audiences over th
e past year including at the annual conference of the International Associ
ation of Near Death Studies in Washington\, DC.  These remarkable and pow
erful stories have brought to audiences a sense of the beauty\, wonder and
hope about what the continuity of consciousness and life after death may
 be like.\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp
 \;\n\n&nbsp\;\nEddie Allen\, Robert Cornett\, Laurie Portocarrero\, Vincen
t Roppolo\, Dasana Smyth\nMadison Shulkin\, Lyla Rivers and Ted Pugh (Dire
ctor)\n\n A discussion will follow the performances that allow us to talk
about the piece and take questions.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n"Watching Crossing the
Veil and Coming Back Again was life changing for me.\nThe intimate staging
drew me deeply into the astonishing and powerful\nstories of these five p
eople\, all distinct and  different but all describing\nsuch similar near
-death experiences. Having seen this play\, I find my\nperspective on life
and death has widened and deepened. I hope that many\,\nmany people get t
o see this play."\n\n"This was an amazing experience. The way that each ac
tor told their story\nwas so powerful. I just got lost in it and each acto
r became their character\nso completely that I had to remind myself at the
end that they weren't\ndescribing their own experiences. There were lots
of moments of silence in\nour car on the way home and then bursts of quest
ions and responses! Thank\nyou for a very special experience!"\n\n"You rea
lly hit a great need of our times with this play\, very special to\nhave s
o many people come to see it and all being deeply moved.  Thanks for\nthi
s special gift!"\n\nYou can also purchase your $20 ticket via Venmo:\n\n[c
