We wish to welcome our visitors by offering them ample room for rest, reflection and renewal. In addition to a communal dining area and a multi-purpose yoga room, there will be guest rooms downstairs and a caretaker apartment upstairs. The new facility, a 4000 square foot super-insulated eco-building, will be an example of sustainable architecture and part of our educational outreach. By constructing with thicker walls inspired by the innovative Passiv Haus standards, the costs of heating and cooling will be minimal. The Bensonwood Open Built© OBPlusWall sets a new standard in prefabricated homes and was a BuildingGreen top ten 2010 product.
Your Participation:
Our fundraising goal is $900,000. Besides the new building construction there are legal fees, a survey, engineering fees, a well, a septic, a new driveway and parking areas. We want our efforts to be in tune with nature, the regional environment and the spiritual atmosphere which has nourished so many visitors.
